If you're a tween and you've found 12:34, you're looking for something a little different than what many kid craft sites have to offer; toilet paper roll crafts might not seem as cool as they once did and perhaps you're looking to try your hand at something with a little more style. At 12:34, we hope to bridge the gap between projects for little kids and projects geared towards teenagers and adults. We try our hand at art, crafting, stamping - if we think it's cool - we'll try it. Thanks for dropping by! N&K

Watercolor Trees

We love watercolor painting. Michael's has an art line of their own called Art Loft that I highly recommend to anyone beginning a supply of materials. Firstly, it's extremely affordable, secondly, I've had no problems with the quality of the product and lastly, it's widely available to most of us. We especially love this 36 piece watercolor set ($6.99 CDN without coupon), and use it constantly. In fact it was used on the paintings above. One of the great things about sets like these is that you can get right down to playing with paint, and still have more than basic color choices. I think Kia still prefers working with acrylic paint, because part of the fun for her is the globs of color, mixing them and creating vibrant images with paint. I love that also, but for clean up (and sometimes projects come down to house keeping) watercolor trays can't be beat!

Kia has a head cold right now and so I'm unable to share her work, as it is not quite complete. It's been a good week for us. Trees have provided us with lots of fun searching online, admiring the amazing talents of artists and photographers and made us appreciate even more the beauty of God's handiwork.

Pull out your stamps for next week as our focus is material based rather than themed.
